SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE: Put a little swing in your step tonight in Griswold. The Shiny Lapel Trio will take the stage at the Griswold Inn. The trio, that describes themselves as a tiny little band with a great big sound, is actually four people (oddly enough). The band puts their own swinging twist on everything from classic crooners like Louis Prima, Nat King Cole or Tony Bennet, to songs you'd never expect. She is at 8p.m.
DISHING IT UP: Who doesn't need to blow off a little steam after a hard day at work? Head to downtown Hartford tonight for a little happy hour entertainment at Dish Bar & Grill. You'll be able to enjoy everything from wines, draft beer, martinis and even something called Nick's Infusion Jars, for a great price. And of course there are food specials with choices like cheese steaks, spring rolls and a raw bar. It's the perfect precursor to enjoying the Taste of Hartford.
MAJESTIC MOTHER EARTH: From the massive landscapes, to the polar bears and the penguins, the Connecticut Science Center is exploring the "Ends of the Earth." Visitors will get to take an expedition all the way from the Arctic to Antarctica. The exhibit is perfect for explorers of all ages who want to know how the Earth's poles are indicators of change on our planet. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
