Jersey Turnpike: Deena Cortese, a close friend of Snooki's who joined the Jersey Shore cast prior to last season, is hosting a party at Hartford's multi-level club Up or On the Rocks. Fellow cast member Ronnie packed the venue in August, and with college kids back in town, this "Semester Set Off" should attract a substantial crowd. Cover is $15 before 10 p.m.
Silver City Spinning: Chicago-based DJ collective Orchard Lounge sets up shop at Milford's Daniel Street. The trio of Ben Silver, Spencer Lokken and Bethany "Queen B" Lokken have had an impressive summer, with stops at North Coast Music Festival and Camp Bisco. Their mix of house, trance and hip hop should foster an upbeat dance floor. Tickets are $20. 9 p.m.
Preacher Man: Stand-up comic Bryan Callen kicks off a three-night swing at Comix at Foxwoods. Callen was one of the original cast members of Fox's MadTV, played chapel owner Eddie in The Hangover and often appears on Chelsea Lately. Check out a sample of his live act here. Tickets are $20-$40. Tonight at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
