A 4-year-old boy who rode the subway alone after losing his mother in Brooklyn has been found safe in Manhattan, law enforcement sources said.

A mother had just stepped off a train gone up an escalator at the Broadway Junction station in Cypress Hills around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday when she realized one of her four kids, 4-year-old Messiah, was missing.

The boy's mother told NBC 4 New York she "panicked" as soon as she realized he was gone.

"I was screaming, crying, looking for him," she said. "I thought someone took him."

Police immediately launched a search for Messiah. Luckily, a Good Samaritan on a Manhattan-bound train spotted him crying without an adult.

The man brought Messiah to his workplace on the Lower East Side, where coworkers gave him something to eat and sat him down with some crayons.

The employees called 911, and police were soon able to reunite Messiah with his mother.

Messiah told News 4 he went the wrong way and got separated from his mom.

"I missed my mommy," he said.

Messiah's mother said she was relieved that the ordeal had ended.

"I'm stressed," she said. "But I'm happy he's OK."
