Billy Bob and Willie Together Again in CT

Billy Bob Thornton called in sick after a heated interview in Canada, but he's on for Connecticut

Billy Bob Thornton's band might have canceled on Canada after the actor compared the country's fans to mashed potatoes with no gravy in a testy interview that caused a sensation online. But he’s still coming to Connecticut.

Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters have been touring with Willie Nelson and Ray Price but Billy Bob’s band took a little break.

A note posted on Nelson's Web site Friday said the Boxmasters were canceling the rest of their Canadian dates "due to one band member and several of the crew having the flu."

The cancellation came two days after Thornton made world headlines with a belligerent appearance on CBC radio's "Q."

The Boxmasters opened for Nelson on Thursday in Toronto, where they reportedly were booed and met with catcalls of "Here comes the gravy."

All three will be playing the Stamford Center for the Arts in Stamford Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., according to the box office, and at the Warner Theater in Torrington on Wednesday.
