Man Arrested After Beacon Falls Standoff

The incident began around 3 a.m. It is not clear if anyone else is in the house.

A 32-year-old Naugatuck man has been charged after a standoff on Church Street in Beacon Falls on Monday morning.

State police responded to a domestic disturbance on Church Street around 3 a.m. after the victim called police to report that she had a restraining order against Jason Litke and he was at the house with a shotgun, throwing blunt objects at her and making threats.

The victim was able to get out of the house and go to a friend’s house in Waterbury, and told police that Litke called her cell phone, over and over, and threatened her.

During one call, he told the victim he would “put her down like a dog,” police said.

During a standoff with police, Litke came out of the house once, put his hands up and went back in, according to crews at the scene. Then he came out again and police fired a pellet gun.

Litke sustained minor facial injuries and was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment. He was released and charged with interfering with an officer, simple assault; disorderly conduct; second-degree harassment, intimidation; criminal violation of a protective order; third-degree assault; and threatening.

Police said they found a shotgun in the house and Naugatuck animal control officers secured two dogs that were in the house.

Litke was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is due in court on Tuesday.
