    A man is dead after a shooting in New Haven late Saturday night and police are investigating his death as a homicide.

    Mark Allen Moore, 29, of New Haven, was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, according to police.

    Officers responded to Button Street around 11:40 p.m. after getting a ShotSpotter alert of gunfire and 911 calls of a person shot.

    When first responders arrived, police said they found a man who had been shot in a parked vehicle.

    Investigators held a crime scene on Button Street between Spring Street and Putnam Street in the Hill neighborhood overnight.

    The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
