Police have charged a 28-year-old South Windsor man who they said was driving with a suspended license and left the scene of a crash.

Police responded to a crash at Ellington Road near Kupchunos Drive around 6 p.m. on Friday and found Tyler Smith, 28, of South Windsor, a short time later.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended, evading responsibility and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Smith was later released on $1,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 22.
