North Haven Brush Fire Continues to Burn

It is at the edge of Anthony Borrelli and Sons Farm.

Nine days after a brush fire started on Warner Road, in North Haven, it is still burning and the state has issued a notice to the property owner .

A compost pile of storm debris has on fire at the edge of Anthony Borrelli and Sons Farm, at 95 Warner Road. It's too dangerous for firefighters to put it out, officials said.

State officials said the farm owner did not have a permit to have so much material on his property and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection sent him a notice of violation for illegally operation a solid waste facility.

The farm has 30 days to clean the site.

State officials said the smoke is not toxic.
