Teen Killed In Hartford Crash Will Be Laid to Rest

Javon Turner was a junior at the Culinary Arts Academy at Weaver High School

A 17-year-old from Hartford  who died in a car crash last weekend will be laid to rest today.

Police said Javon Marcus Turner lost control of his car and hit a parked box truck on Barbour Street near Cleveland Avenue shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Turner, who was a junior at the Culinary Arts Academy at Weaver High School, leaves behind a 17-month-old daughter.

His friends are now trying to raise money to help his family cover expenses.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 22, 11 a.m. with calling hour 10 a.m. at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service Chapel, 94 Granby St., Bloomfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. For online condolences please visit www.henrylfuquafuneralservice.com.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
