A bizarre accident shut down the westbound lanes of Route 1 in Milford on Tuesday.
An SUV traveling west on the Boston Post Road stopped for oncoming traffic and was rear-ended by a car near West Clark Road just after 9:30 a.m., according to police.
The westbound lanes of Route 1 were closed from Plains Road to Erna Avenue while crews cleared the damaged vehicles. Traffic was detoured onto Plains Road and West Clark Street, police said.
No one was injured.
