A firefighter was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a family has been displaced after a New Haven house fire Saturday afternoon.
New Haven firefighters responded to a structure fire at 161 Cedar Hill Avenue at 2:44 p.m. on Saturday. Crews responding found fire in the first and second floor walls of the home, the fire department tweeted from its department Twitter account.
It wasn't long before firefighters put out the flames.
No residents were injured. A firefighter was transported to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. There's no word on the firefighter's condition.
American Red Cross officials are assisting the family of two adults and four children who were displaced.
New Haven Fire Department's Arson Investigation Unit responded, but the cause of the fire has not been determined.
