Family of Victim Killed in Crash Sues Ex-Milford Cop, City

The family of an Orange teenager killed when a Milford police cruiser struck their car is suing both the officer and the city.

A lawyer for the family of Ashlie Krakowski, 19, filed the negligence lawsuit in state Superior Court on Monday.

The family of the other victim, David Servin of Orange, filed state and federal lawsuits in the spring against former Officer Jason Anderson, Officer Richard Pisani and the city. Krakowski and Servin were both 19.

Police have denied that Anderson and Pisani were racing when Anderson crashed into the teens' car in Orange in 2009 while returning from a mutual aid call without his emergency lights on.

Anderson was fired and is awaiting trial on manslaughter charges.

Milford's city attorney declined to comment to the Associated Press.
