Traffic was congested on Interstate 84 East in Tolland and Vernon for hours on Friday after a crash.
Officials said two cars crashed at 12:40 p.m. near exit 68 and one went over the guardrail and down the embankment.
Four people were transported from the scene to be treated for minor injuries.
