Line Drive Fractures Little Leaguer's Skull: Dad

A little leaguer from Maine could wind up with a titanium plate in his head after he was hit in the head during New England regional competition in Bristol.

Scott Morrill, a Bangor East coach and the boy's father, told the Bangor Daily News the ball was hit so hard his son didn't have time to get his glove up at first base.

Jake Morrill was taken to a Bristol hospital, where a CT scan revealed the skull fracture, and then transferred to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.

The injury happened in 10-8, seven-inning loss to Glastonbury National.
