Man Accused of Robbing Taxi Driver at Knifepoint

Police have arrested the man accused of holding a knife to the neck of a taxi driver in Hamden last month and stealing his money.

According to police, Aaron Johnson, 39, of New Haven, took a taxi from Cedar Street in New Haven to Marlboro Street in Hamden the day after Christmas.

At the end of the ride, he pulled out a knife, held it to the driver's throat and demanded money, according to police.

Police said Johnson took the driver's cash and ran toward Newhall Street.

He was arrested Jan. 20 and charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

Johnson was held on $250,000 bond and appeared in court later that day.
