A Bridgeport woman, apparently unhappy with her tax return, is charged with attacking her tax preparer.
Police say Dava Ruci, 46, of Cherry Hill Drive, was arrested Tuesday on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Officers said Ruci went to the Liberty Tax on Main Street to have her taxes prepared.
She apparently tried filing a joint return, even though her husband lives out of the country. Liberty Tax told her they wouldn’t file the return.
That’s when police say Ruci attacked the manager who is 5 months pregnant. "I was smacked and pushed and called the n-word," said Laquaya Cabrel.
Police say Ruci then broke the office mirror on her way out the door. They arrested her at home, hours after the incident. She’s out on a $2500 bond.
Cabrel received some bumps and bruises but wasn't seriously hurt.
