Teen in Critical Condition After Crash

A 13-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Shelton on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was on foot in the 200 block of River Road around 3:30 p.m. when she was struck, police said.

The driver told police that the teen ran out into the roadway and she was unable to avoid hitting her.

The teen suffered serious injuries and was unconscious when emergency crews arrive. She was transported to a hospital, where she is in critical condition, police said.

Officials do not believe her injuries are life-threatening.

Shelton police’s traffic division is reported.
