Two men were shot in East Hartford early Thursday morning.
Police said East Hartford and Hartford police officers were called to Nutmeg Lane in East Hartford just after 1 a.m. to investigate reports of gunshots and they found a man who had been shot several times. They also found several bullet casings, a handgun and a rifle.
The victim was treated at the scene and he was taken to the hospital.
A short time later, police responded to Philips Farm Road after receiving reports of an injured man who was knocking on doors, asking for help, and they found a man with several gunshot wounds on Silver Lane.

Both victims are expected to survive, police said.
East Hartford Police Detectives are investigating and police said this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.
