Service has been restored after a water main break that closed has closed New Park Avenue in Hartford.
The 8-inch main at 351 New Park Ave. broke around 2 a.m. on Thursday and sent water gushing down the road.
MDC officials initially expected repairs to be done between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., but extended the timeframe to between noon and 1 p.m. because the crews have to replace the pipe in the area rather than repair it.
Service was restored around 11:30 a.m., but road work is expected to go until around 4 p.m.
No customers have been affected.
The water main was originally installed in 1903.
