Waterford police are warning residents of a phone scam offering residents a $10,000 bank loan.
According to police, the scammer tells residents they have been approved for the loan, then asks for personal information. Police who called the scammer said a person with a heavy accent answered and offered them a $10,000 loan. He claimed to be working for Cash Now USA, a company that does exist but lists a different contact number than the ones being used by the scammer, according to police.

Waterford police are investigating the scam and warn against giving out personal information to an unknown caller. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Waterford Police Department.
