A man who was turned away from a security checkpoint at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday after officers found a knife in his carry-on said he'd put it in his checked bag and left the line, then returned a short time later with the knife in his underwear, authorities say.
Transportation Security Administration officers found the two-bladed pocketknife in the man's underwear during a pat-down after he set off the scanning equipment when he re-entered the checkpoint.
Port Authority Police arrested the man on a state weapons charge.
