An out-of-control school bus hit several cars in a mile-long accident scene that injured 26 people in west Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon.
Phoenix police Officer James Holmes says none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
He says 45 students were on the bus, but none of them were hurt. The students ran from the bus as soon as it came to a stop after losing control.
Holmes says children were among the 26 injured, but that they were in cars.
A total of 13 vehicles including the bus were involved. Everyone injured has been taken to a local hospital.
Holmes says it's unclear why the driver lost control but that he is being interviewed.
Administrators with the Fowler Elementary School District did not immediately return calls for comment by Wednesday evening.
