BIRD DAY-TO-DAY AS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAY IN SEMIS
There is question surrounding the status of Sue Bird as the U.S. women's basketball team prepares to play France in the semifinals on Thursday night. Bird injured her knee during the team's last game against Japan.
An MRI revealed a knee capsule sprain and she has been listed day-to-day. It will be a gametime decision to play her or not.
Even without Bird, the U.S. squad is a big favorite against France.

YALE SAILOR ON THE WATER ONE LAST TIME
The sailing events have suffered some rough waters thanks to the weather, but if all goes as planned, all three Yale sailors will be racing on Thursday.
Stuart McNay and his teammate, David Hughes, were in 4th position going into the final 470 class race. They finished 2nd in the medal race, keeping them 4th overall. Croatia won gold, Australia the silver, and Greece took the bronze.
Joe Morris and Thomas Barrows, sailing partners at Yale, raced in the 49er class but finished in 19th place and didn't qualify for the medal race.

ASHTON EATON CONTINUES QUEST TO DEFEND OLYMPIC GOLD IN DECATHLON
Oregon-native Ashton Eaton became the first decathlete to win the IAAF Athlete of the Year award after breaking his own decathlon world record. Now he’s looking to become the repeat decathlete Olympic champion.
He earned 1,000 points on Thursday for finishing the 110-meter hurdles in 13.80 seconds.
SHAKUR STEVENSON BACK IN THE RING
New Jersey native Shakur Stevenson climbs back into the ring in the boxing semis to face Russia’s Vladimir Nikitin.
Stevenson is guaranteed a medal in the bantamweight division following his decisive win in the quarterfinals, but he’s planning on bringing gold back to the Garden State.
