- 1 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 Oreo cookies
- As needed canola oil for frying
- As needed powdered sugar to coat after frying
Sift together the first 4 ingredients into a mixing bowl. In separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Now, pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and whisk gently just to combine.
To fry, heat a pot no more than halfway filled with canola oil to 350ºF. Dip the cookies one at a time into the batter, lift out and gently add to the oil splashing away from you.
Only fry about three at a time allowing space between each. Fry until medium golden brown then flip over and repeat. Drain briefly and coat with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
