    The one-and-only Debbie Gibson has joined forces with Cirque Dreams to provide the ultimate Jungle Fantasy.

    EXOTIC ENCOUNTER:  There's a different kind of Cirque performance going on at the MGM Grand at FoxwoodsCirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy combines all the creativity, acrobatics, contortionists and humor with live music.  '80s pop queen Debbie Gibson (yeah, we're glad she dropped the Deborah too) stars in the show as Mother Nature providing a live soundtrack to the evening of entertainment.  Tickets are $35 and $69.  Click here for show-times (Jungle Fantasy runs through Sept. 1) and more ticket info.

    TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN:  It's a night of post-grunge alt-rock tonight in Bristol.  Southern California trio Smile Empty Soul will hit the stage at Bleacher's Sports Bar.  The band has released four studio albums since forming back in 2003.  Tickets are $10 at the door.  Smile Empty Soul goes on at 9 p.m.  And as an added bonus, there's a beer pong tournament going on at the same time!

    PLAYTIME IN THE WHALING CITY:  Head down to the shoreline for a trio of events in New London.  You can Check out Ocean Beach Movie Night.  Each week at 7 p.m, you can  enjoy a movie in the open air fro the comfort of your beach blanket.  Bring the whole family for just $5.  Or you can check out "Creatures" at Spirit Gallery.  The Gallery is presenting an exhibition of movie sculptures and artwork created by Hollywood artist and designer Jordu Schell.  The opening reception is tonight from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.  And if that's not enough, head over to Parade Plaza to check out a staged reading of Eugene O'Neill's classic "Long Day's Journey into Night."  The play will be read at different times throughout the day (get it?) with the final act taking place at 11 p.m.
