Popular Glastonbury Restaurant Closing After 35 Years In Business

A popular Glastonbury restaurant is closing its doors after 35 years in the business.

For the regulars, it’s hard to imagine a night out without the Parma Restaurant.

"It was family. That’s all! You just get to know them all," said customer Dale Chiffer of Glastonbury.

The Peluso brothers have been serving up favorites for more than 35 years and 73-year-old Luigi Peluso’s specialty is the rack of lamb.

As the head chef at Peluso’s, Luigi says he has served up about three million meals in his 57 years in the restaurant business. But after 35 years of running Parma he and his 76-year-old brother John will hang it up Friday night.

"It’s my bread and butter, my family, my life, I raised my kids through here," said Luigi Peluso.

A wall of political fame hangs above the bar, including a picture of John Peluso standing with former Governors William O’Neill and John Rowland.

When asked why they are closing up they said because they are too old. "This business is for young people," said John.

The restaurant’s last day is on December 31st.
