Teenager Facing Attempted Murder Charge After Stabbing in Enfield: PD

A teenager is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing in Enfield Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the teenage victim is in critical condition at an area hospital, but is expected to survive his injuries.

The officers responded to a 911 call around 3 p.m. When they arrived to the victim's home on Robbin Road, they found him suffering from stab wounds. Police said officers administered medical aid to the 18-year-old before he was transported off scene.

Police were able to make a quick arrest with help from a witness. They took 19-year-old Jason Passalacqua into custody.

"Witness called us and gave a description and he was seen a few houses down the street, where officers were able to engage him and he went without any issues," said Enfield Police Lt. Willie Pedemonti.

Investigators from the State Police Major Crimes Squad waited on deck several hours for a signed search warrant to enter the crime scene. Police cars and the Connecticut State Police trailer blocked much of Robbin Road as they collected evidence between where the stabbing and arrest took place.

Police said Passalacqua and the victim knew each other.

"Not exactly sure what took place, but the suspect ultimately ended up stabbing the victim multiple times," Lt. Pedemonti added.

Passalacqua is being held on $500,000 bond on charges including attempted murder, assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.
