3 Juveniles Rob UNH Student: Cops

Police said the 3 juveniles stole a wallet, cell phone and iPod.

West Haven police have arrested three juveniles accused of holding up a University of New Haven student.

Three male juveniles in a Chevy Cavalier pointed a handgun at the victim at 9:40 p.m. at Chauncey and Rockdale streets, stole his wallet, cell phone and iPod, police said.

They drove off north on the Boston Post Road, but police in Orange later saw a similar vehicle on Boston Post Road, near Meloy Road, police said.

The driver fled from officers, but police from West Haven and Orange followed the car to the parking lot of Sam’s Wholesale Club and blocked it.

The three juveniles in the car had a pellet gun that looked like a real handgun and the victim’s wallet, IPod and belongings, police said.

Police said the vehicle had been taken in a carjacking that happened earlier in New Haven.

The three juveniles were charged with robbery and larceny and transported to a juvenile correctional facility.

Police have not released their names because of their ages.
