Get It While It's Free!

Families, tourists and art enthusiasts striving to find culture -- for free -- can kick off the summer at a variety of venues, thanks to your Bank of America card.  And we don't mean swiping it.  Just showing it!

On Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, the Bank of America’s Museums On Us program is offering Connecticut cardholders free admission to The Mashantucket Pequot Museum, Stepping Stones Museum for Children and The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

Just flash your ATM card and a valid photo ID to get free general admission this weekend at any of 120 cultural institutions across the country.

Other weekends this applies, include:

  • July 4-5
  • Aug. 1-2
  • Sept. 5-6
  • Oct. 3-4

Looking for something different?

Head over to The Willimantic Public Library where Willimantic and Windham residents can present their library card and borrow a park or museum pass. Some offer free admission and others get you discounted prices at several attractions.

Own a Charter Oak Pass? It'll get you in the door for free at Gillette Castle, Dinosaur or Fort Trumbull State Parks, or out fishing at the Quinebaug Valley Hatchery.

Be sure to mark June 13 on your calendar. Heritage Day and Open House Day are combining to form one of the state’s greatest traditions as part of Pride in Manchester week.

The Historical Society's museums: Cheney Homestead and Keeney Schoolhouse will be open without charge, while Open House Day hosts arts and cultural organizations for the public to explore new venues.

See, you can have some fun in the state for free this summer. If you're sticking close to home, check out Staycation options
