Police went to a Wallingford motel early Monday morning to check on a man who had been in a car there for hours and arrested him after several bags finding cocaine, police said.
Police responded to the Hilton Garden Inn located at 1181 Barnes Road in Wallingford around 12:48 a.m. after someone reported that a man had been in a car in the parking lot for more than two hours and did not respond when the caller checked on him.
When officers approached the car, they found Michael Hoyle, 31, of Wallingford, in the car and he had individually packaged bags of cocaine, police said.
Officers tried to wake Hoyle again and again and took him into custody when he stirred
Police seized nine bags of cocaine believed to be worth around $3,000.00.
He also had a digital scale.
Hoyle was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 19.
