Memorabilia From Prince’s Life and Career Head to Auction

Memorabilia from Prince's life and career will be up for auction on Friday. While there is no little red corvette, fans can bid on a replica of the 1981 Honda motorcycle, adorned with purple and pink love symbols, that Prince rode in the film version of "Purple Rain."

The motorcycle was created as a tribute to Prince, and is a replica of the one that Prince rode in 1984 movie "Purple Rain"). It has 9395 miles on it and a Minnesota license plate that reads "MM88-116."

The letter thanks her for her dancing tape and apologizes that she did not get the part in his music video because the director Lisa thought that she was "2 pretty 4 the part" and picked a "tall and strange-looking [girl] with short hair." The letter was likely written in 1989.

A single lined paper with handwritten lyrics by Prince in black pen and marker to his unreleased song from 1984 "Miss Understood." The song is titled on the top "'Miss Understood' by Susannah," in reference to Susannah Melvoin, who sang lead vocals for the song and was engaged to Prince, but a piece of white tape partially covers the title. The sheet contains lots of changes, additional annotations, and is marked "chorus" and "refrain." Accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Gwen Leeds, Prince's assistant tour manager.
