The Harford Marathon takes place this weekend and you can watch the race or enjoy any of the 36 bands playing along the course.
The race starts at 8 a.m. and several roads will be closed to accommodate the runners.
Between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday, the only highway exit in the marathon area that will be open is Interstate 84East Exit #49 to Ann/High Street area, north of Bushnell Park.
Pearl, Ford and State streets, as well as the Founders Bridge will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Asylum Street, Farmington Avenue and South Whitney will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Broad Street will be closed to 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Capitol Avenue between Broad and Hudson streets will be closed from midnight to 9 a.m.
Capitol Avenue will be closed between Oak and Hudson streets from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday until the race is over.
Elm Street will be closed from Trinity Street to Pulaski Circle at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Lafayette Street will be closed between Capitol Avenue and Russ Street as of 12:01 a.m. on Saturday.
Sheldon Street, Van Dyke Avenue, Weston Street, Rev. Moody Overpass, Market Street, Prospect Street and Park Street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Trinity Street will be closed between Ford and Elm streets west of Pulaski Circle as of noon on Wednesday.
Trinity Street will be closed between Elm Street and Capitol Avenue as of 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
There will be no access to Clinton Street on Saturday from 12:01 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Founders Bridge eastbound only will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Founders Plaza area, including East River Drive exit, East River Drive, Hartland Street, Meadow Street and Pitkin Street will be closed.
Prospect Street area, including S. Prospect Street, Main Street north of Prospect and Carroll Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Silver Lane access to Route 2 and Route 15 will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
South Windsor Road Closures
In South Windsor, Main Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Residents of Main Street and King Street are asked to park on side streets on the east side of Main Street, so they can access a vehicle if they need to leave while the marathon is in progress.
Only emergency vehicles and marathon participants and staff will be permitted on Main Street and King Street during the event.
