Man Shot in Jaw at Hartford Projects

Authorities are investigating after a 20-year-old man was shot in the jaw in the area of the Hudson Street Projects in Hartford, according to police.

Police found a victim lying on his stomach at 60 Wadsworth Street in Apartment C1, police said. He was conscious and blood was gushing from his mouth, according to police.

Paramedics responded and an ambulance took him to Hartford Hospital for treatment.

Police said the victim's injuries are not life-threatening.

The victim said that his attacker, dressed in dark clothing, chased him on Wadsworth Street and fired six shots at him. Police found that six shell casings between 22 and 60 Wadsworth Street.

The city's shot spotter system did not detect the gunfire.

The Hartford Police Department Major Crimes Unit  responded and blocked off the road from 60 Wadsworth Street to Park Street on Friday night.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses.
