Food Network Chef Robert Irvine, the culinary king of making the impossible possible, is making a visit to Connecticut today.
Irvine will tour the sub base's galley and he'll get an up close look at a submarine. He'll also get the chance to meet some of the base's Navy culinary specialists.
Irvine is no stranger to the military life.
Before he became a TV star, restaurateur, cookbook author and celebrity chef, he was a member of the British Royal Navy as a Culinary Specialist himself.
He's also no stranger to Southeastern Connecticut.
He helped transform Mystic's The Flood Tide restaurant for "Restaurant: Impossible," and he's taken part in Mohegan Sun's annual "Sun WineFest."
Aside from "Restaurant: Impossible," Irvine has also starred in other Food Network shows, including "Dinner: Impossible," "Worst Cooks in America" and "The Next Iron Chef."
