Sir, you did what in the back of my cruiser?
Outside a Hartford fire house this morning police could have borrowed a fire hose to clean out their cruiser.
Carlyle Saunders, a veteran firefighter, just could not control the fire in his belly, said police, who charged him with interfering with a police officer.
He was "highly intoxicated," according to the Hartford police report, and police were giving him a ride to his firehouse where he was "going to spend the next few days."
En route he soiled his pants but denied it until a call came to police from Saunders' wife that he'd taken $3,500 in cash from their home.
When the officer went to find the cash he found something else too in Saunders's pants, as well as a small amount of marijuana.
Saunders told Judge Joseph Koletsky his wife will post his $1,000 bond. Saunders is on probation for a conviction last year for interfering with a police officer, the same charge he faces now.
