Police have canceled a Silver Alert for an 84-year-old woman who had been missing from an assisted living facility in Stratford for a week.

Lydia Scarazzini was found safe in New York with her granddaughter, according to police.

Until Tuesday, police said the last time staff of Atria Assisted Living Facility saw Lydia Scarazzini was on Dec. 3, when her granddaughter, Claudia Herring, picked her up for a visit.

Scarazzini was reported to have heart problems and was believed to be out of heart medications, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Stratford Police Department at the TIPS Line, 203-375-8477 or the detective division at 203-385 4143 or 412.
