Former Norwalk Assistant Clerk Arrested

Deborah Troy

A former Norwalk Assistant Town Clerk was arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the town.

Deborah Troy, 47, was charged with first- degree larceny after a police investigation revealed the Norwalk Town Clerk's office sustained a loss of $3,000.

Authorities began investigating Troy after Norwalk Town Clerk, Richard McQuaid, said he discovered irregularities.

Troy turned herself in to police Wednesday and was later released on a written promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on November 8.
