Kerri Perry was driving on Interstate 95 around 2 a.m. between exits 71 and 70 when she lost control and her vehicle veered off the road, flipped and hit several trees, police said. Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

She was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

The passenger, a 32-year-old Milford man, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for injuries.

In New London, icy conditions closed the Gold Star Bridge on Interstate 95 on Monday morning. A crash was reported between exits 86 and 84. The road reopened just after 7 a.m. after state Department of Transportation crews were able to sand the road.
