15-Year-Old Charged in New Britain Shooting

    Police are investigating a shooting in New Britain.

    A 19-year-old is suffered from critical injuries at a trauma hospital and a person suspected of being involved is 15-years-old, New Britain police said on Thursday.

    The shooting happened on Richard Street in New Britain on the night of Sunday, July 21. A second victim has minor injuries, police said.

    The victims' names have not been released. The juvenile, whose name has not been released, has been charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree criminal attempt to commit robbery, theft of firearm and alter, remove or deface firearm serial number.

    He will appear in juvenile court on Thursday. Due to the seriousness of the charges, the case will be transferred to the Superior Court for review. 

    The 15-year-old is the second person arrested in this case.
